Oh, sure you’re making more money than you ever made before, and maybe you live in a nicer house with a more respectable car, but at what cost? You know others who are making way more than you, but wonder how can you make more when you’re working all the hours you’re putting in now? Does the dream of ‘time & financial freedom’ now seem beyond your reach? Has self-employment turned into something akin to ‘self-enslavement’?
Yet while you are being busy, working all those long hours, there is a minority out there who seemed to have figured something out what you haven’t. They seem to have the time to take off and play golf or travel, or … This then is an awareness for you. It is your hint that there is a much better way vs how you are trying to do things now.
Becoming great at anything has a price, and part of that price is learning the ‘time-proven’ wisdoms. Just suppose that you wanted to learn how to sail. So you sign up for class and have someone teach you. You then go and get a little sailboat to hit the water. Soon though you notice there are nicer boats, boats that can go faster, boats that look like more fun and have nicer amenities. So you get a bigger boat, a nicer boat. But as soon as you take your nicer bigger boat out you realize that with all of the great advantages, it also requires a lot more work than had with your little boat.
So as part of your continued awareness you notice that the bigger boats have something you don’t have, more people. So you go and get some people, your people, a crew. At first everyone is excited and likes the idea of sailing, but after a short while no one seems as happy. As time goes on, one by one your crew starts to leave, and soon you either have very little, or no crew. Suddenly your dream of sailing has turned into anguish.
Yes you had ambition and you wanted more, which is all good. The issue is that you didn’t have the awareness that you needed to learn a little bit more, in a few areas that would transform into a much better experience & life.
Team Conversation Mastery is about leaning that you can go farther, and have more fun doing it when you lean about building great teams. You don’t have to do it all by yourself, in fact your job is to do one thing really well, building a great team. It then becomes the teams responsibility to build a great business. You don’t have to do it all. Come and learn how life has so much more to offer than where you are now. ©Whitson Management Group, LLC 2014
